About Barry Plant Real Estate

Barry Plant Real Estate was established in 1979 when Barry Plant – who is a director of the company today – opened an office in Templestowe in Melbourne’s east. In the following years Barry Plant Real Estate flourished in the eastern and south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. In July 1999, the 15 Barry Plant offices merged with EJ Doherty Real Estate to form Barry Plant Doherty.

EJ Doherty opened its doors in a small office in Coburg on 1st July 1958 and at the time of the merger with Barry Plant it had 16 offices located throughout the north and north-western suburbs. The merging of the two companies, both of whom had earned enviable reputations for consistently obtaining excellent results for their clients, meant that the new real estate group – Barry Plant Doherty – covered a great deal of metropolitan Melbourne.
